Ty Tex 127 - Tyler Texas USA 1967. Highly neglected pop garage brilliance. First one out of four 45s by this combo, but the rest of the records ain't exactly garage tho'.

Canary 1012 - Nashville TN USA 1966. Snotty arrogant teen rant with subtle explicit lyrics. Excellent. Group included Nyman Furr (sings here) who was a local celebrity later playing outsider folk and country music with his band The Little Juice Band. Nyman passed almost exactly ten years ago, and Alvin Holland the guitarist died in 2012 so this post is dedicated to them.

Romain 1011 - Philadelphia PA USA 1967. Previously known as the Nomads. They cut this tune as an acetate only in 1966. In 1967 they'd changed their name and re-recorded it and made a proper release. The Nomads version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_dpZ...

Dove Recording Studio acetate - Edina/Hopkins MN USA 1967. One side of this made it to our top 200 list. Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tcphg... . This here is the other side and it is very good too. The original line-up: Jeff Parkinson on drums, Dave Rival lead guitar and vocals, Peter Brynildson lead vocals, Mike Holm keyboards, guitar, vocals; and Jim Richards bass.

Roaring 804 - Rego Park New York USA 1967. Both sides posted. Inspired by the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan but these Rego Park teens don't sound much like the F4 on here. One great screamer and a soulish dancer on the flip. They whooped some John Cummings and Thomas Erdelyi ass in a Battle Of The Bands in '67 and finished above the pair's group Tangerine Puppets. Gemcor 5002 - Los Angeles CA USA 1965. Only output from this lot. Great Cali folk ringer. Appeared as "The Rumor" on Pebbles. The flip is more known as it was included in the big Nuggets box set.
