Ty Tex 127 - Tyler Texas USA 1967. Highly neglected pop garage brilliance. First one out of four 45s by this combo, but the rest of the records ain't exactly garage tho'.

Roaring 804 - Rego Park New York USA 1967. Both sides posted. Inspired by the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan but these Rego Park teens don't sound much like the F4 on here. One great screamer and a soulish dancer on the flip. They whooped some John Cummings and Thomas Erdelyi ass in a Battle Of The Bands in '67 and finished above the pair's group Tangerine Puppets. Gemcor 5002 - Los Angeles CA USA 1965. Only output from this lot. Great Cali folk ringer. Appeared as "The Rumor" on Pebbles. The flip is more known as it was included in the big Nuggets box set.

Fox 1 - Hastings MN USA 1966. Sixteen years olds put out a great version of Kingsmen's song. These youngsters became Bedlam Four and cut the psych beast "Hydrogen Atom" in 67 as well as another 45 the same year. In 1991 Caped Crusader released two unissued cuts "No One Left To Love" bw "Psychedelic Mantra"

Sgt. Golden 13169 - Arizona(?) USA 1969. Flipside of the desperate basher "Some Kinda Rich Girl". I like it. Late-in-the-game powerful minor key winner. Some say they were located in California.

Charay 44 - Fort Worth TX USA 1966. Classics Galore pt 7. Fort Worth finest with their best tune. Another one that regrettably was neglected in the top 200 list. United Audio 6003 - Youngstown Ohio USA 1969. Sole output by this (studio) ensemble although Mickey Kalis (aka Michael Joseph Kalis) was active in the music business long before and after, but it wasn't a fulltime job. He supported himself as a carpenter, craneman, military man and later as a restaurant owner. He passed away in November of 2016.

Key-Loc 1017 - Tennessee(?) USA 1968. Another one of those hard-to-track bands. Someone suggested Texas (label was there) others have said Tennessee. I however hear SoCal Chicano garage in this this and it wouldn't surprise me if it was a California combo. The other side is psych and a lot less interesting than this - a pure garage dance monster. Brilliant!

Mark VII 1013 - Waco Texas USA 1967. Only output from these lads from Waco where also the legendary Mark VII was operating. "Murphy Doss" was not one person which may have confused researchers through the years. Hence group info has been scarce. Honcho Russ Murphy is a serious Christian minister today and doesn't want to talk about the past. Even though he wrote a book called Not Alone about love and new found faith which I speculate is a response to the song on the flipside of this - I'm Alone

Cal Omen 101 - California USA 1967. No definite location on this group, but I believe they came from East LA. This has SoCal Chicano rock written all over it. Plus the label, run by DJ Godfrey Kerr, a well known champion of the Eastside Sound and a collaborator with Thee Midniters, was located in Los Angeles. He even wrote and recorded Down Whittier Boulevard (as "Godfrey") with Midniters backing. Mr Kerr played around with other two-name labels like Kay Gee and Gee Kay. This is a damn good rocker in any case.
