Street Jazz is the rawest form of Jazz, blending Jazz and Street Dance together and expresses the hottest moves seen in the latest music videos. This unique style of dance is taken from the classical elements of Jazz, but placed in the modern environment. Basically, it was created to be a "cool" form of jazz incorporating moves from other street dance styles.

Our Contemporary class provides a wonderful introduction to contemporary dance and self-expression drawing upon elements of contemporary technique. This class is designed for students with little or no training in contemporary dance and who like to move, take risks and be expressive. Class begins with a warm up to improve posture, alignment, build strength and flexibility followed by phrase work focusing on musicality, creativity, style and intensity. Our Grade 1 Ballet students performed to a Russian inspired folk dance, Kalinka during DancePot 1st Charity Concert in DPAC Theater, Empire Damansara on Nov 8 & 9, 2014.

It was their first time performing with their character shoes. Character shoes are firstly introduced to students entering Grade 1 Ballet as part of their RAD syllabus.
