Mexico’s Carlos Vela converted a penalty and set up two goals in Los Angeles Football Club's 4-2 win over the New York Red Bulls at Banc of California Stadium. LAFC went two ahead before the half hour, with goals in rapid succession from Jordan Harvey and Latif Blessing, but the Red Bulls tied the game up before half time through Cristian Casseres Jr. and an own goal off Tyler Miller. Mark-Anthony Kaye’s goal after the break was overturned by VAR before Vela scored from the spot to put the Black and Gold back in the lead in the 61st minute. Vela teed up Eddie Segura to head in a fourth and Miller produced a late save to secure three points for LAFC.
